Every owner I talk to is short on good people. But the bigger problem is that their best people are getting wasted: low-margin jobs, callbacks, slow billing, paperwork, and completed work that still has not turned into cash.

Before starting Level, I spent four years leading growth product at BuildOps, working with commercial contractors across service, projects, billing, and finance workflows. Before that, I worked in PE and investment banking on service-business transactions totaling $2.5B.

The pattern was always the same. The field knew what happened. Finance knew what posted. Nobody had a clean operating layer between the two.

Level exists to build that operating layer: gross profit per labor hour, cash trapped in open jobs, and the weekly actions each office should take next.

Why owners call

The books exist. The visibility still does not.

The common pattern is not "no accounting." It is books that are technically there, but no trusted view of cash, margin, WIP, job cost, customer profitability, or the next 13 weeks. Level turns that messy operating layer into numbers an owner can actually run from.

Clean books that match how the business works
Job, customer, account, and location margin visibility
13-week cash forecast tied to real open work

What we believe

AI cannot do your best people's work. Level uses AI to orchestrate the work around them.

Service businesses don't just need more reports. They need to know where scarce skilled labor is turning into margin, where it is getting wasted, and where cash is getting stuck.

That means going beyond compliance. Knowing why your margins dropped before you ask. Building a cash forecast that accounts for seasonality. Benchmarking your numbers against businesses your size, in your industry — so you always know where you stand.
