Level + ServiceTitan
Level for ServiceTitan users
ServiceTitan is the operational platform powering tens of thousands of residential and commercial trade businesses. Level is the financial layer above ServiceTitan — pricebook-to-GL mapping, membership revenue recognition, multi-location profitability, and the CFO advisory that turns ServiceTitan data into decisions.
Field Service Management for residential + commercial trades
What ServiceTitan does
- Dispatch, scheduling, and pricebook-driven sales
- Job, customer, and location management
- Memberships and recurring revenue
- Technician scorecards, payroll categorization, timesheets
- Marketing attribution and lead-source tracking
- Operational reporting and dashboards
What ServiceTitan can't do alone
- Run your monthly bookkeeping or close the month
- Maintain the pricebook → GL chart-of-accounts mapping as the pricebook evolves
- Amortize annual memberships correctly across the contract life
- Reconcile technician labor cost between ServiceTitan timesheets and the actual payroll system
- Produce CFO-level forecasts and benchmark you against 2,200 contractors
- Coordinate AP, AR collections, and tax-ready year-end
What Level adds on top
- Pricebook ↔ GL account mapping managed as a reviewable table with monthly drift alerts
- Membership revenue amortized correctly: deferred revenue on upfront payments, monthly recognition by membership_id
- Multi-location P&L by location and customer-type, not just total revenue
- Payroll-to-job-cost reconciliation within 48 hours of payroll close
- AP automation with job-aware coding and 1099 tracking
- Rolling 6–8 week cash forecasts every month
- Monthly CFO call with peer benchmarks across 2,200 contractors
What you see with ServiceTitan alone vs. with Level on top
ServiceTitan is the operations system of record. Level is the financial system of insight that sits on top.
| Capability | ServiceTitan alone | ServiceTitan + Level |
|---|---|---|
| Pricebook-to-GL mapping | Mapping configured per-tenant; drift between pricebook changes and GL goes unmonitored | ✓Mapping table reviewed monthly; drift alerts before close |
| Membership revenue recognition | Full upfront payment often posts as current-period revenue | ✓Deferred revenue with monthly amortization by membership tier |
| Multi-location P&L | Revenue by location; cost allocation manual | ✓Full P&L by location with shared overhead allocated by rule |
| Payroll-to-job-cost | Timesheet hours in ServiceTitan; payroll cost in your payroll system (Gusto/ADP/Paychex) | ✓Reconciled to job WIP within 48 hrs of payroll close |
| Month-end close | Not the product | ✓~5 days for $5M+ trades (vs. 15+ days) |
| Benchmarks | ServiceTitan industry data on selected KPIs | ✓Level's 2,200-contractor research applied monthly |
| Refund / reversal QA | Refunds post; reverse JEs are manual | ✓Automated QA; manual JEs down ~80% |
ServiceTitan runs the field. Level runs finance.
Both teams need ServiceTitan running well operationally. The finance question — what's actually profitable — needs a CFO interpreting the data, not just dashboards.
Memberships are the biggest revenue-recognition pitfall.
Annual memberships paid upfront are deferred revenue. Many ServiceTitan customers recognize them upfront — overstating revenue in growth months, understating in others.
The QBD sync is fragile.
ServiceTitan-to-QuickBooks-Desktop runs on a customer-managed Windows machine. Stoppages and version mismatches are routine. Level replaces this with a managed sync.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Level work with ServiceTitan Financials (their proprietary GL)?
Yes. ServiceTitan Financials replaces QBO/Intacct for some customers; Level still adds the CFO + bookkeeping + benchmarking layer.
Do I need to leave QuickBooks Desktop for Level to help?
No — but if you're on QBD, expect Level to recommend QBO or Intacct migration depending on your size, complexity, and growth trajectory. The QBD sync is genuinely fragile.
Is integration work charged separately?
Custom integration work is included in most Level engagements. See /pricing for tier breakdown.
